Description
September 2009 saw the handover of the 50 apartment Deansfield Court Extra Care scheme at Malton to Yorkshire Housing.
The £5.5 million design and build project commenced on site in April 2008 and was completed 17 months later.
The Extra Care Home was constructed using a closed panel timber frame system and provided 50 apartments, along with communal facilities, such as a day room, restaurant, hairdresser, lounge and shop.
It was constructed to EcoHomes standards, achieving the ‘Very Good’ rating, and was also assessed by the Considerate Constructors Scheme, receiving 33 out of a possible 40 - a high-level score well beyond the compliance mark of 24.
