Description

The site had previously been occupied by a range of outdated council houses owned by Leeds City Council that had proved difficult to let and created significant social problems in the local community.

Termrim Construction worked with Methodist Homes and Ridings Housing Association to build a range of different dwellings, including family homes, bungalows and a 70 bed extra care/dementia care home.

Construction work began in May 2003 for the two housing associations and was handed over in November 2004, providing a total of 92 individual dwellings.

The contract with Methodist Homes was a Strategic Partnering Arrangement created from the completed Bradley Court project in Huddersfield.

The contracts with Ridings Housing Association were negotiated following a competitive tender and encompassed many Egan compliant requirements.

The 14 bungalows for Ridings Housing Association were successfully completed and handed over in March 2004 and the eight houses were handed over in November 2004.
